What is happiness? Happiness to anyone can have a huge variation of definitions. To you it could be relaxing with a cup of coffee. To another person, happiness is a long drive in a convertible in the country. Yet one definition of happiness is directly related to getting mail from a penpal. What? Really, you ask? Why would that be? Let’s face it, most of us (truthfully, more than would readily admit) have gone through a part of their life wondering if someone actually cares if they exist. Some of these individuals have been blessed enough to realize by the grace of good friendships that they indeed do matter and they actually have reason to exist. Others it’s still a constant state of wondering, especially those who have not exactly made the best of decisions in life and want to make a change. Unfortunately, this kind of atmosphere, most of the time self inflicted, causes such grief within oneself that the inflicted person loses hope with life. Either the distraught person will “give up” on themselves and stop trying to become better, accepting their self made lifestyle. Worse yet, these people can get so low that thoughts of just ending things for themselves and attempt to take their own life, sometimes being successful at taking what is their greatest gift.
So, when some people go through these areas of not caring too much because of this or that find themselves in places or scenarios that would change their life forever. How is this? These bad decisions can sometimes be so bad that it lands the individual in jail or prison. Some may say “Well, that’s where they belong”. But here’s the truth, most prison inmates are actually scheduled to be released, hence why their sentence is called “rehab” in most cases. So why not help in the rehabilitation process. Once released back into society, the person who has “done time” will quite possibly go back into the same atmosphere that they know. This, more times than not, will just put them right back “doing time”. UGH!!!! What a nightmare!
To help stop this from happening, why not reach out to someone that is an inmate in jail or prison with a friendly letter to let them know that they are not forgotten, we all make mistakes.

MISS DEDICATED AND DETERMINED
Write Prison Pen Pal Antika
Hi! I’m ready to meet someone as energetic, caring and passionate about life as I am. I’ve learned a lot on my journey and I’m ready to put this mess behind me. I don’t have children, and that’s one goal I seek to accomplish once I establish my career. I’m great at many things, but I’m primarily a song writer and jewelry designer. By trade, I studied fashion design and fashion marketing, as well as computer programming. I’m currently enrolled in a customer service and computer course. I come from a large extended family and that is very important to me. Listening to music calms my spirit, great food calms my body and resting calms my wallet. I love life and I’m attracted to others with a zest for life. If that describes you, I’d love to hear from you.
WOULDN’T YOU LIKE TO KNOW…
Yes that’s a taunt. But, wouldn’t you like to know a healthy, happy, intelligent, and attractive woman that knows herself and what she wants out of life...

Why Write a prisoner
Writing a prisoner may not be an understandable choice if those writing have never been affected either directly or indirectly with incarceration. Based on what experts and people working directly in the prison environment say is that those entering the prison lifestyle are forced to learn new survival techniques that were not otherwise needed living day to day life in the outside world. The whole point of people entering the prison system is to get them the assistance needed to become a productive member of society. However, the extreme circumstances of being confined and having very strict rules enforced is a very difficult transition and in turn impair the rehabilitation process. Surprisingly, many inmate programs that help with inmate rehabilitation are not offered as much as they used to be. Inmates generally rely on friends and family to help them during this difficult time in their life. Normally, this causes a great deal of stress on all involved mostly due to money and time let alone the emotional upset that has been created. Even though most of the inmates will be released back into society at some point many friends and family members of these inmates have a tendency to give up on their loved one for various reasons. So not only these people in prison are facing isolation and difficult living conditions they now have to come to grips with the fact that when they are released these inmates may have nowhere to go upon release.
This is where writing a prisoner can have a positive result. When an inmate starts communicating with those on the outside , the feeling of being isolated becomes reduced significantly. The prisoners now have hope restored as they build relationships with people offering their advice, thoughts and perhaps a new perspective on the situation. From just a friendly relationship to a true spiritual awaking, the positive outcome of communicating with an inmate can be felt on both sides. There are so many different ways people on the outside can help. Help can be given towards writing resumes, job search and placement, finding spiritual growth, believe it or not sometimes love can even be found. So In becoming a prison pen pal the inmates now have a positive addition in their life and those writing may actually change someone’s life, all from writing a prisoner.
